I’m from Manila, Philippines, and on the surface, homosexuality is accepted, but there is a deep underlying hatred for homosexuality, thanks to the craven hold of the Catholic Church.
I’m from a small farming community in Michigan. Homosexuality is still pretty taboo here, and there are no gay rights that I know of. I could be wrong though.
I live in Canada and we’re pretty far along in the rights deptartment.Still have along road to travel.
ex – gay men in canada cannot donate organs or blood.
Here in England we can get married and adopt children. Legal age of consent is now the same as heterosexual couples.
You can be dismissed from your workplace if you are homophobic.
Employers cannot exclude you from a job just because of your sexuality.
We are treated like normal people here.
Things are good here.
I live in Connecticut. I’m bisexual and I am disappointed in our gay/lesbian rights here. I hope that sometime (soon!) gay marriages will be legal in my state. It’s sad that there are no presidential candidates, besides the two minor ones(who have already dropped out of the race) who openly support gay marriage.
I live in Louisville, Kentucky which is a fairly liberal city.
There are laws against all types of discrimination against LGBT people (employment, housing, public accommodation). The only bad parts are some state laws, such as a state constitutional amendment against same sex marriage.
I just moved to Colorado from Hawaii. In Hawaii they had rights for trans youth as far as bathroom and everything. I am not to positive about things here though.
I’m in Michigan, a supposedly liberal state. That’s a load of BS. We’re some of the most conservative people I’ve ever seen. Mitt Romney was born here and his dad was governor in the 60s. The KKK’s outpost (basically their headquarters in North America…) is about 45 miles east of me in Howell. LGBT life here sucks. There’s more than 330,000 people in the tricounty area but there isn’t a single gay bar. Everything is banned here. In fact, the state legislature just voted to strip all benefits from same-sex partners.

I live in Texas and it is by far one of the most “out-dated” I’ve heard of!

I live in Illinois and by the most part gay rights here are mediocre. They are not great and not horrid. They are unchanged for the most part.
